St. Andrews State Park: A Lifetime of Memories and Moments

St. Andrews State Park isn’t just a place I visit — it’s a place that’s been part of my life for nearly 60 years. I learned to swim in the old “kiddie pool” more than five decades ago. I fished on the jetties with my dad when I was a kid. I’ve walked these shorelines collecting shells I still display in my home today. I’ve watched the park change with storms, dunes shifting, disappearing and then being restored over the years, yet the things that matter most — the natural beauty, the wildlife, the sense of peace — have stayed the same.

Sitting between the Gulf of America and the quiet waters of St. Andrews Bay, the park is packed with the sights that keep pulling me back: the jetties and the pass, the white sandy shoreline around Sandy Point, the calm Grand Lagoon, the marshes full of herons and egrets, the deer in the dunes, the ospreys and bald eagles hunting overhead. Whether I’m walking the trails or biking the roads, this place always feels like home.

This page collects photos from my visits over the last several years — a growing archive of the birds, beaches, landscapes, and everyday scenes that keep me coming back. It’s part memory, part photography, and part appreciation for a park that’s been with me through every stage of life. I hope you enjoy looking through these moments as much as I’ve enjoyed capturing them.
