Meet the Man Behind the MADNESS at The Dive

If The Dive had an official narrator, it would be Scott Jackson. Most bar managers take inventory and unlock the doors. Scott? He writes full-throttle epics about the chaos, characters, and questionable decisions that drift through St. Andrews after dark. His Facebook page, The Adventures of a Dive Bar Manager, is part comedy, part confession, and entirely on-brand for the unapologetically salty heart of this neighborhood.

His posts aren’t your typical bar updates — they’re the kind of stories that make you pause mid-scroll and think, “Only in St. Andrews.” It’s impossible to read them without hearing the music, feeling the humidity, and smelling the faint mixture of tequila and fog machine juice that seems permanently stitched into The Dive’s DNA.

Who Is Scott Jackson?

Scott Jackson is the Dive Bar Manager at The Dive in Historic St. Andrews — and based on the way he writes about it, the man has seen things.

From his public posts alone, you get a pretty good picture of someone who wears a lot of hats: bartender, chaos coordinator, late-night therapist, hype man, and storyteller. He’s the kind of personality that thrives in a place like The Dive, where the unexpected is guaranteed and the average night can go from calm to legendary in half a song.

Whether he’s describing a dumpster-side encounter with “Boner Bears,” announcing a block party like he’s summoning the apocalypse, or giving a Sunday pep talk to exhausted bartenders running on espresso and trauma, Scott writes with a voice that’s sharp, fast, and familiar to anyone who loves this salty little neighborhood.

He doesn’t polish anything up.
He doesn’t pretend nightlife is glamorous.
He just tells it exactly like it happened — or at least how it felt.

And that’s part of why his personality stands out.

Why His Voice Fits St. Andrews

Historic St. Andrews has always been a place with character — the kind of place where locals and regulars carry the culture forward. The Dive, in particular, has built its reputation on authenticity. Nothing forced. Nothing fake. Nothing trying to be anything other than what it is.

Scott’s storytelling fits that mold perfectly.

He gives you a peek behind the bar that feels real and unfiltered, like someone narrating the soul of the nightlife scene as it unfolds. His writing has that blend of grit, humor, exhaustion, and weird joy that so many people around here relate to — even if they’d never admit it in daylight.

It’s the kind of voice that doesn’t just describe St. Andrews…
it sounds like St. Andrews.
