Setting Sail:

At 5:30 PM, festively decorated boats gathered at the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club, ready to embark on a journey through Panama City's waterfront. The planned route showcased iconic landmarks, passing by the Panama City Marina, Harrison's Kitchen & Bar, and the Hotel Indigo Panama City Marina before concluding at the Hathaway Bridge.

Shoreside Spectacle:

Spectators lined the shorelines and braved the weather, eager to catch a glimpse of the radiant parade. The reflection of lights on the water created an enchanting ambiance, with prime viewing spots at Harrison's Kitchen and Bar or Hotel Indigo. The spectators at St Andrews Marina basin got a real show as the boats paraded into the marina to show off their spectacle.

Creative Captains and Prizes:

Boat captains transformed vessels into floating masterpieces, competing for public votes and the chance to win a YETI gift basket valued at up to $1000. This spirited competition added excitement to the joyous event.

Community Celebration:

Beyond the shimmering lights, the Boat Parade of Lights celebrated community unity. Families and friends gathered along the waterfront, creating lasting memories against the backdrop of glittering waters and illuminated boats.

The grand champions emerged triumphant, with Boat #18 - Reel Lady by Derrick Dorsey claiming 1st place, followed by Damon and Camile Shamblin's "Diving Dinks" in 2nd place, Tim and Suzy Nichol’s “Tiger” in 3rd place, Jason Berger's "Bella Vita" securing 4th place, and Richard Hall's MR8803 rounding out the top five. These vessels stood out, adding an extra layer of brilliance to an already spectacular event.

The project is rooted in authenticity, respect for the past, and a belief that the best stories are told by the people who live them.
