Sunjammers

Gear for Life on the Water

“High quality gear. Local knowledge. Laid-back coastal attitude.”

Step inside Sunjammers, and you’ll understand what makes St. Andrews different. This isn’t a big-box surf shop or a tourist souvenir stop — it’s the real deal. Brad Stephens built Sunjammers around one simple idea: if you’re going to live or play on the water, you deserve the best equipment and honest advice from people who live it every day.

From top-tier kayaks and paddleboards to performance apparel, sunglasses, and footwear, every item in the store is handpicked for quality, durability, and fit for life along the Gulf. Brad and his crew don’t just sell gear — they use it. Whether it’s paddling across St. Andrews Bay, biking Beck Avenue, or chasing sunsets by boat, the Sunjammers team lives the lifestyle they outfit.

The vibe is relaxed and friendly — you’re just as likely to swap fish stories or get a restaurant recommendation as you are to talk about kayak hull designs or polarized lenses. Sunjammers represents the best of coastal living: independent, knowledgeable, and proudly local.

Heritage & Roots

Owner Brad Stephens grew up right here in Panama City and has been part of the St. Andrews community for decades. Long before he opened Sunjammers in 1999, Brad was drawn to the water — exploring the bay, working the beaches, and living the laid-back but hardworking rhythm that defines this place.

Over the years, he’s become more than just a business owner; he’s become one of the community’s most dedicated advocates. Brad has championed efforts to make Beck Avenue safer and more walkable, helping preserve the small-town, pedestrian-friendly feel that defines Historic St. Andrews.

Through hurricanes, rebuilding, and growth, Sunjammers has remained a constant — a local business with deep roots and a genuine love for the community it serves. Brad’s legacy isn’t just the store he built, but the example he sets: a reminder that small, independent shops still have the power to shape the spirit of a town.
